This page describes the rules for hosting a live broadcast on Elai Marketplace. It supplements, and doesn't replace, our Terms of Service.
1. Livestreams must be about your listed products
A Elai livestream exists to demonstrate real products for sale on the Platform. Broadcasting anything else — content unrelated to your listings, or content that would violate our Terms of Service if it were a regular listing (illegal goods, counterfeit items, or otherwise prohibited content) — is a violation of this policy and grounds for the stream being taken down and the seller account being reviewed.
2. Before you can go live
Every stream must be approved by an administrator before it can start. To schedule one, you provide:
- A topic/title describing what the stream will show.
- Any supporting documents relevant to that topic, for the admin reviewing the request.
An admin reviews the topic and documents and either approves the stream (after which you can go live) or rejects it with a reason. A rejected stream can be resubmitted after addressing the reason given. Streams created directly by Elai staff are exempt from this review step.
3. Fees
Going live carries a one-time $10 fee, charged when the stream actually starts (not at scheduling time). Recording a stream and keeping it in the archive for later viewing requires an active $10/month recording subscription — without it, a stream still airs live but is not saved afterward.
4. Reporting a stream
Any viewer can report a livestream they believe is showing prohibited content or content unrelated to the listed product, using the report button on the stream's page. Reports go to our moderation team for review; a substantiated report can result in the stream being ended and the seller account being reviewed, independent of whether the stream was originally approved.
5. Recordings
A recorded stream is stored the same way any other content you upload to the Platform is, and remains subject to the same content rules as the live broadcast itself — a recording of prohibited content can be removed even after the fact.
